Malda, West Bengal:
A day after seven infant deaths were reported from the Malda Medical College and Hospital in West Bengal, three more children have died, bringing the death tally to 10 in the last 48 hours.
Sources said the three infants were aged between zero and 30 days and were suffering from malnutrition and respiratory problem.
Hospital sources added that the deaths of seven infants yesterday were also due to low birth weight, malnutrition and respiratory problems.
This is not the first instance of infant deaths being reported from this hospital. In June this year, 23 infants had died in the hospital.
