Lucknow: After top cop DD Mishra accused the Mayawati government of corruption and harassing honest officers, another IPS officer in Uttar Pradesh has now accused senior bureaucrats of the Mayawati government of harassment.
Amitabh Thakur has moved the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court claiming harassment by Kunwar Fateh Bahadur, Principal secretary, Home and Vijay Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister.
In his petition in the High Court, Mr Thakur has alleged that he was denied his study leave for three years and the the Principal Secretary, Home suspended him as Superintendent of Police, Gonda.
His suspension was revoked after five months only after the election commission stepped in. Mr Thakur says that his promotion to the post of DIG has been due for more than three years and last month he was posted to a yet-to-be-created Rules and Manuals department.
