West Bengal: A gang of armed men stormed into a privately run nursing home in West Bengal early this morning and demanded immediate treatment for one of their friends who had suffered some injuries. They assaulted the staff and created a ruckus at the Paramount Nursing Home in Sreerampore, Hooghly district, police said. The CCTV camera at the nursing home captured the whole drama.

Superintendent of Police Sukesh Jain said identification of the accused was being done with the help of the CCTV footage.

Around 6.30 am, five to six men who drove up in motorcycles barged in to the facility and threatened the staff. A few of them rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where they pointed a gun at the doctor on duty and demanded immediate care for their friend who they claimed had got injured in an accident.

When they were asked to fill the intake form, they refused to sign the papers and beat up the receptionist.

Before the staff could call the police, they fled with the patient.
