Jodhpur: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's counsel has moved a fresh application in a Jodhpur court seeking all documents pertaining to the prosecution permission given by the then district magistrate Rajat Kumar Mishra in the case under the Arms Act.
Mr Khan's counsel had earlier made a plea for the re-examination of Mr Mishra, a prosecution witness. The hearing of the case, however, could not progress today as Mr Mishra failed to appear in the court for re-examination by the defence.
The court adjourned the hearing for August 3.
"The prosecution witness (Rajat) Mishra did not appear in the court today, so the court adjourned the hearing," said Mr Khan's counsel HM Saraswat.
He said that since Mr Mishra had granted permission of prosecution against Khan under the Arms Act, "we have to re-examine him in the light of some new developments".
"In view of that, we have also moved a fresh application in the trail court for production of the documents pertaining to the prosecution permission," said Mr Saraswat.
During the previous hearing on the application of the defence seeking re-examination of Mr Mishra, Chief Judicial Magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit had summoned Mr Mishra.
A case had been registered against Salman Khan under the Arms Act for alleged possession and use of arms with expired licence during poaching of two black bucks at village Kankani near Jodhpur in October, 1998.
