Jammu: In the wake of the Uri attack, Western Army Commander Lt Gen Surinder Singh today reviewed the operational preparedness of the Army in Jammu and Pathankot regions and emphasized on ensuring fool proof security measures.
The General Officer Commanding in Chief of the Western Command (GoC-in-C) reviewed the operational preparedness of the Army in the Jammu-Pathankot region and emphasised on ensuring fool proof security measures, a Defense spokesman said.
"He visited the forward areas in Jammu, Samba and Pathankot where he interacted with field commanders and troops in the area and appreciated the efforts of Army units and formation.
"He reiterated the need to maintain a high order of operational preparedness and alertness," the spokesman said.
Lt Gen Singh also visited Headquarter Northern Command and interacted with Lieutenant General DS Hooda, the GOC-in-C of the Northern Command.
On September 20, the Western Army Commander had also visited border areas of Jammu, Samba and Kathua.
