Captain Supreetha revealed that their participation in the parade was not planned.

In a historic moment for the Indian Army, Major Jerry Blaize and Captain Supreetha CT, a married couple serving in different contingents, are set to participate in the Republic Day Parade tomorrow. They will march down the Kartavya Path as members of two separate contingents, marking the first time a couple from the Indian Army will share this honour.

Major Jerry Blaize, originally from Tamil Nadu and part of the Madras Regiment specialising in Military Police, married Captain Supreetha CT in June 2023. Captain Supreetha, a resident of Mysore, serves in Army Air Defense. Despite being posted at different locations, the Republic Day Parade has provided them with a unique opportunity to serve together in New Delhi.

In an interview with NDTV, Captain Supreetha shared, "Jerry and I have known each other since NCC days. We both are posted at different places. Lucky for us, we both are here because of the Republic Day Parade. And we are getting a chance to spend time together."

Captain Supreetha revealed that their participation in the parade was not planned; it was a coincidence. She had initially given a test for selection in the parade, and after her selection, her husband Major Jerry Blaize also got selected from his regiment.

Both expressed their happiness at being part of the Republic Day Parade. Captain Supreetha said, "Since the days of NCC, we have wanted to participate in the Republic Day parade. Now, this dream of both of us is coming true. We feel very happy to see this."

Major Jerry Blaize, sharing his motivation, said, "My wife was part of the NCC contingent in the Republic Day parade in 2016. I got the opportunity to be a part of the NCC Republic Day Camp in New Delhi in 2014. This was also one of the motivating factors for me. I wanted to lead my regiment on the path of duty on Republic Day 2024 and make my regiment proud. This wish of mine is now being fulfilled."

When asked about training together, Major Jerry Blaize said, "We have had different training. We have a daily routine. We also have to do many hours of drilling." Captain Supreetha added, "Since I am part of the tableau, I don't have that much training. But my husband has been trained at the centre."

Both Major Jerry Blaize and Captain Supreetha also shared that they look forward to their families attending the parade to witness this momentous occasion.
