Srinagar:
Four terrorists were killed in an encounter near the Line of Control in Tangdhar sector in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district today. An army soldier was also killed in the firing.
The encounter started after Army intercepted a group of heavily-armed infiltrators in the morning. This is the second infiltration bid foiled by the Army in the last three days.
Another counter infiltration operation is going on in Machil sector for the last three days. One soldier was killed in the encounter. A terrorist was also killed.
Army says operations are going on because they are suspecting presence more terrorists hiding in treacherous mountains of Machil sector.
The Army today paid tributes to soldier Ajay Singh Choudhry during wreath laying ceremony in Srinagar. He was among the five soldiers who were injured in Machil encounter on Tuesday.
This year infiltration has dramatically gone up and over 50 terrorists have infiltrated in last 5 months. Last year there was zero infiltration in the first four months.
