The Army said today it is giving full assistance to the CB-CID probe which is investigating the death 13-year-old Dilshan, who was shot dead as he was trying to trespass into a defence area in Chennai.
The Army also added civilian security guard has been made available for joint investigations. Preliminary forensic evidence suggests Dilshan was shot in the head from a range of about 20 feet. Earlier, Army, in a brief statement, had said that "there was no armed guard located at the compound at any time."
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had demanded the Army hand over those behind Dilshan's killing, while also announcing a compensation of Rs. 5 lakh for the boy's family.
