A Major of the Special Forces of the Army was killed in an encounter with terrorists in Manipur's Tamenglong district today.
Army officials said one ZUF terrorist was also killed in the encounter which started during a combing operation undertaken by Rashtriya Rifles and Special Forces personnel.
While the terrorist was killed in an earlier encounter, Major Amit Deswal of 21 Para, from Jhajjar district in Haryana, lost his life during an exchange later in the same area.
He died after being evacuated from the encounter site.
The combing operations are continuing, army officials said.
