An Army Officer was killed in firing by Pakistani soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir's Nowgam sector this afternoon.
The junior commissioned officer was hit by Pakistani sniper fire when he came out of his bunker. He died from his injuries later, an Army spokesperson said.
The Indian Army retaliated the fire but there is no information whether Pakistani side suffered any damages. The firing started around 1 pm today.
The Nowgam sector falls under the Kupwara district in north Jammu and Kashmir.
For last the two weeks, Pakistan has violated ceasefire in Pirpanjal region. Unprovoked firing by Pakistani soldiers has killed six civilians at Balakote in Poonch district.
