Arunima moved to AIIMS from Bareilly

New Delhi: Volleyball player Arunima Sinha, whose leg was amputated after she was pushed out of a train last week, has been moved to Delhi's AIIMS hospital from Bareilly.

Ms Sinha was travelling through Bareilly to Delhi when three men attacked her and tried to snatch her gold chain. When she resisted, they pushed her out of the moving train. Another train heading toward her ran over her left leg.

After her leg was amputated, she went through another operation yesterday because she had developed a severe infection.

The UP government has offered Ms Sinha a job.

"The Sports Minister met Sonu this morning and offered her a job in Sports Directorate or the Sports College," Deputy director (Sports) Anil Banoda said.

Ms Sinha was headed to a recruitment drive for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) when she was attacked. None of the men who assaulted her have been traced.

She has been offered a job by the Railways Ministry, and Union Sports Minister Ajay Maken met her today in Bareilly. Her family had said that Ms Sinha would prefer a job that would allow her to engage with sports because she has always been a passionate athlete.
