New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today met senior BJP leader L K Advani and discussed a range of issues including the political landscape in the country and challenges being faced by the capital.
The meeting came over a month after the BJP leader had called off a scheduled meeting with the Aam Aadmi Party leader on June 19. The BJP had denied that the meeting was cancelled due to party displeasure, but sources say that the party and its ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were "jittery" about it.
During the 45 minute meeting between the two, Mr Kejriwal apprised Mr Advani about difficulties being faced by his government due to "non-cooperation" of the BJP-ruled Centre besides other challenges facing the city, according to sources.
Sources close to Mr Advani described it as a courtesy meeting which took place at the BJP leader's residence. Last month, Mr Kejriwal had agreed with Mr Advani's view that imposition of Emergency cannot be ruled in the country.
Mr Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor (LG) Najeeb Jung, through the Centre, are locked in a bitter turf war over who runs the state administration over the last few months.
