Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter to launch his latest attack on BJP
New Delhi: The BJP-led government is busy misusing probe agencies and plotting ways to bring down elected governments even as people suffer from skyrocketing inflation and a diving rupee, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said today.
This is the latest in a series of sharp attacks the Delhi Chief Minister has launched on the centre following the CBI raids against his deputy and senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia. The case relates to alleged irregularities in corruption in the liquor policy in the national capital that was introduced and then rolled back.
"The rupee is getting thrashed, people are worried over price rise, unemployment rate is touching the sky, and these people are playing CBI, ED games, busy plotting how to topple elected governments across the country, spend the day using slangs. Who will people tell their problems to? Who will they go to?," Me Kejriwal tweeted, adding, "How will the country progress in this way?"
Mr Sisodia has alleged that the case against him has been cooked up because the BJP fears the popularity of the AAP. He has said that the 2024 general election is set to be a contest between Mr Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and accused the BJP of misusing central agencies to stop the AAP leader.
Following its return to power in Delhi and a thumping victory in Punjab, the AAP has been trying to expand its national footprint. Besides pushing its organisational presence in several states, the party has now set its eyes on the 2024 general election.
