New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal speaks exclusively to NDTV's Barkha Dutt on the alleged scam in the Delhi cricket body and the odd-even formula of the Delhi government.
Here are the highlights:
Here are the highlights:
- We haven't done anything. They conduct CBI raids at my office, turned a blind eye to the Vyapam scam
- There was a DDCA file at my office, which they kept looking at for hours
- There were several things in that file which are not in the public domain.
- Rajender Kumar was being pressured into revealing who from the DDCA was coming to meet the chief minister.
- We don't want fights, we want to work in Delhi.
- I met the PM and I told him we don't want anything from you, neither money nor land.
- I and Manish went to meet the PM. I told him I am like your child, please guide us, he did not say anything. He remained silent.
- We just want to be able to work. If he lets me, i'll carry on initiatives like Skill India
- The court did not stop the inquiry. The Lieutenant Governor himself is getting involved in scams. He scuttled the inquires he was conducting when he became the Lieutenant Governor.
- The Delhi and District Cricket Administration (DDCA) is supposed to be responsible for cricket-related activities.
- Many scams have cropped up in the DDCA. No one is denying wrongdoings in the DDCA.
- A senior journalist told me that his son was selected in the team and in the final list the name wasn't there. In the evening, his wife gets a call that you come to my home and you son will be selected.
- The inquiry has been set up and truth will come out. The entire matter will be probed.
- Whenever we claim corruption in the DDCA, Arun Jaitley ji says I am being defamed.
- As a President of the DDCA for 14 years he was repeatedly told about the wrongdoings in the DDCA, why didn't he take any action?
- He will have to share the responsibility.
- What is CBI's job, to probe or plant stories?
- I challenged them to make those tapes public. Give them to the media.
- Don't try and malign us. It will not scare me
- I challenge the CBI director, send 100 officers to the Delhi secretariat and raid all my ministers
- Some papers said Rajendra Kumar is close to me. I have no relation with him
- Rajendra Kumar is an honest officer and he worked for 49 days without any problem
- LG's office has been threatening officers that if you work with us, we will take action against you
- What did they find? savings of Rs 27 lakhs after 27 years of service
- The inquiry commission is being headed by the former solicitor general Gopal Subramanium. What more transparency can anyone ask for?
- The inquiry has nothing to do with Arvind Kejriwal, it has to do with the Delhi cricket body and cricket conditions in Delhi
- It is almost like 'No One Killed Jessica Lal'. There was corruption, but ghosts did it
- I attend the government's official events all the time (sharing the stage with Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav), does that mean it's political?
- Ok. let's assume we're corrupt, that doesn't counter corruption charges on Arun Jaitley or the DDCA issue
- Everyone knows that many officers are directly under the PMO
- Our choice of words maybe wrong but our intent isn't, unlike theirs
- I stand by my words, if someone shoots through someone else's shoulders then they are cowardly
