The dargah committee has decided to start a scholarship with the money.
Ajmer:
The dargah committee of Ajmer today received a donation of Rs 2 crore as per the wish of industrialist Dadi Balsara who died in June this year.
Mr Balsara, in his 'will', had directed his family to make donations at several places including Rs 2 crore at the dargah of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishty in Ajmer, which he used to visit frequently.
Dargah committee CEO Ashfaq Hussain received the cheque from the officials of Balsara's company in Delhi. With the money, the committee has decided to start a scholarship named after him and introduce facilities for elder devotees at the dargah.
"We are considering starting a scholarship on Balsara's name for poor students to prepare for engineering and medical entrance examinations. We will work out a plan to run these scholarships for some years," Mr Hussain told PTI over phone from Delhi.
Besides, he said that the committee would also create some facilities for elders, like a resting room inside the premises of the Dargah Guest House and wheel chairs for them.
He said the Dargah Committee will send quarterly reports on the progress of these initiatives to Mr Balsari's office to make things transparent.
