New Delhi: As Rashtrapati Bhavan was waiting for President Barack Obama to arrive for a ceremonial welcome that includes a 21-gun salute, the US National Security Council on Sunday tweeted: "President Obama is honoured to be back in India to celebrate Republic Day and to begin a new chapter in the US-India partnership. Jai Hind!"
The White House retweeted the post.
The Security council is the principal forum used by the US president for considering national security and foreign policy matters.
POTUS is in Delhi for three days with wife Michelle for bilateral talks. He will serve as Chief Guest at tomorrow's Republic Day parade in the capital.
