CBI chief Ranjit Sinha appeared to be dozing during Home Minister Rajnath Singh's speech.
New Delhi:
At a conference of the who's who of India's police, security and intelligence agencies today, Home Minister Rajnath Singh urged them to stay alert at all times to combat the many challenges faced by India.
But a prominent member of the audience, Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI chief Ranjit Sinha, may have missed Mr Singh's valuable suggestion. He seemed to be taking a quick nap during the Home Minister's speech.
Television cameras caught Mr Sinha apparently dozing off while the Home Minister was making a point about senior officials not getting "tired" even after their retirement.
Incidentally, the chief of India's premier investigating agency is set to retire on December 2.
"There are many senior officers here. Some of them are close to retirement. But I don't subscribe to the notion that just because you are retired, you should be tired. Your experience and your capability can still play a role in ensuring the nation's security," said Mr Singh.
