- Development that can wipe the tears off the poor.
- Development that can make the people of this nation lift their heads with pride.
PM @narendramodi:In last 18 months we have entered into uranium supply arrangements with a number of countries - a sign of trust in India.
- Vikas Swarup (@MEAIndia) November 24, 2015
- Who should these people look towards when they are in trouble. Should we leave them to their fate? Should we forget them?
- They should be able to say, even if i am in trouble today, I know my country will save me.
- This is when relations with other countries help.
- We want energy for the country, but not add to the misery that is global warming.
- We have decided to produce 40 per cent of the electricity with non-fossil sources. That electricity will not be produced with coal.
- We get huge amounts of energy from the Sun. Even as kids we were taught, Moon is your uncle and the sun is your grandfather. We are focusing on solar energy, biomass.
- Today the world is so interested in India's target of 175 gigawatts of renewable energy that world leaders are amazed and investors want to be a part of it.
- A person gets a mobile phone, but to charge it, he has to go to the nearby village.
- This is the reality, but it has to change.
- In 2020, when India will celebrate 75 years of independence, all families in India will have 24x7 access to electricity.
Charges of corruption would me made every time a defence deal was signed. It has been 18 months and no one has been able to lift a finger on our dealings, Says PM Modi in Singapore
- India has youth, it has talent, it has the raw material, why shouldn't the defence equipment be made in India.
- We have increased the Foreign Direct Investment in Defence. People will come to India, invest, and Indians will manufacture the equipment in India, and also export.
- Anyone in the world can invest in the value of Rupee. This is because of the respect of our currency in the world.
- I have met many world leaders in the recent times.
- When I used to campaign for elections, reporters used to asked me, "How would your foreign policy be?" They thought that he works for a small state such as Gujarat, there's no question about foreign policy.
- The reporters would beat around the bush and bring me back to the same question. They figured this guy is weak at this topic. I told them - Na hum aankh jhuka ke baat karenge, Na aankh dikha ke, par ankh milake (We won't cower, we won't be combative. We will look the world in the eye and talk.)
- We live in a century where we don't want to leave or give away what we get.
- Even if you get something, like an extra seat in a train, which does not belong to you, even then, you don't feel like leaving.
- But I said that people from affluent families should give away their gas cylinder subsidies, and today, I am proud to tell you that 40 lakh families, just because I said so, gave it away.
- I have come to this place earlier, but today the scene is different.
- No one in India can imagine that this is the mood in Singapore. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.
- Little India celebrated and extended the festival of Diwali by one week
I thank all Singaporeans. - For years and years, wherever Indians have settled, they have lived peacefully and with love for others. This has been followed for centuries.
- You mingled in these country like sugar in milk.

- India will land its stand to keep the seas safe for the befit of all. Age of interdependence when nations must come together for promise of centuries. Terrorism is one such major challenge. A force larger than individual groups.
- World must speak in one voice and act in unison. There must be political regional and military efforts.
- We must do more, countries must be held accountable.
In the course of last eighteen months, my government has engaged more with this region than any other in the world: PM @narendramodi
- PMO India (@PMOIndia) November 23, 2015
- And as it re-balances its economy and India picks up the pace of its growth, we can advance stability and prosperity in the region.
- We can be more effective in dealing with global challenges together.
- We have been able to keep our border region peaceful
- We will engage constructively across the complexity of their relationship as 2 self-assured & confident nations.
- Asia's re-emergence the biggest phenomena of our times. Japan started Asia's re-emergence.
- But this region also has a lot of unresolved disputes. Our islands are threatened by climate change.
- Asia is finding a path towards a stable and prosperous future.
- I learned long ago that Singaporeans are too well informed about India. We are moving in many fronts at the same time.
- In any case for me it is the emergence of India as the fastest growing major economy in the world.
- Confidence is growing and resolve is stronger. The direction is clear and it is spreading across the nation.
- I can do no better than pay homage to one of the tallest leaders, Lee Kwan
- It was with his well known determination that he showed Singapore.
- He believed in India's potential both at home and abroad and to me he was a personal inspiration.
- Singapore has done more than just lift a nation. It has inspired the region's progress.

- Terrorism is the biggest threat to the world today. Knows no boundary. It kills people of all faith.
- We have to delink religion from terror.
- The only distinction is between those who believe in humanity and those who do not.
- And it is showing is numbers. India is the fastest growing major economy. I know, you feel proud of it.
- India is growing at 7.5 per cent but will grow even faster in the coming years.
- There is change in the way government is working. We are making government transparent and accountable. Eliminating corruption at all levels.
- Making governance driven by policy and not at discretion of individuals.
Malaysia's achievements are enormous. Just 6 decades after Malaysia gained independence, this nation has much to be proud of: PM
- PMO India (@PMOIndia) November 22, 2015
- We share colonial history. The glory of India's freedom struggle was written in part by Malay Indians. Thousands of your forefathers came forward to join Netaji and Indian National Army.
- To their Children and grandchildren I say a big thank you. And here in Kuala Lumpur we will name our cultural centre after Netaji.
- I also pay homage to Indian soldiers who laid down their lives in deadly world war 70 years ago.
- As I stand before you I'm reminded of the words of great Tamil saint Thiruvalluvar. Friendship is not just a smile on the face. It is what is felt deep within a smiling heart.
- Mahatma Gandhi once said he want to learn Tamil to study more about Thiruvalluvar.
- It does not matter whether I came here without office or I come now as PM of India. I've felt the same embrace of friendship and welcome.
Here are the highlights
- He was a sage who inspired India to greatness
- It is a great fortune for me to dedicate the statue of Swami VIvekananda on Malaysian soil
- From the Vedas to Vivekananda, India's culture is rich. And now we are moving from Upanishads to upgraha (satellites)
- Swami Vivekananda is not the name of a person. It is about the Aatma of India
From the Vedas to Vivekananda, India's culture is rich - Narendra (Swami Vivekananda) was in pursuit of the truth. He was not looking for any Guru
- Similarly, neither was Ramakrishna Paramhans looking for a disciple
It was pursuit of truth that got them together. They were not looking for a teacher or a disciple - When youngsters asked him what should we do to find God, Swami Vivekananda said go play football
- I am sure this statue will be a source of inspiration to the people here
