Guwahati:
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today criticised State Chief Secretary Jitesh Khosla for continuing his family tour and enjoying an elephant ride at Kaziranga National Park, even after the killing of 62 people by militants in three districts.
"That is not good on the chief secretary's part. He should have immediately come back," Mr Gogoi said at a press conference.
Local TV channels have been reporting Mr Khosla's trip, along with visuals of elephant rides with his family, this morning at the Kaziranga National Park.
At least 62 people were killed and several injured in a series of attacks by militants from a faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland on Tuesday night in Sonitpur, Kokrajhar and Chirang districts of Assam.
Around 2,500 people have fled their homes and are staying in relief camps after the attacks, official sources said.
