In view of the second and final phase of Assam Assembly elections on April 11, prohibitory orders under Section 144 Code of Criminal Procedure will be imposed in Kamrup district from 5 pm today.
District Magistrate, Kamrup, Vinod Seshan issued the order prohibiting assembly of five or more persons at any public place in the area with the intention to carry out processions and raising slogans among other purposes.
The order will remain in force until further notice, the order said.
