Election 2024 Results Live: The BJP on Sunday returned to power in Arunachal Pradesh, while the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha secured a second term in Sikkim.

Assembly Election Results 2024 Live Updates: The BJP on Sunday returned to power in Arunachal Pradesh, while the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) secured a second term in Sikkim. 

Voting was held for 60 assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh and 32 assembly seats in Sikkim on April 19.

According to the Election Commission, the BJP returned to power in Arunachal Pradesh for the third time in a row after winning 46 seats. Results were declared on Sunday for 50 of the 60 assembly seats as the ruling party had already won ten seats unopposed. Chief Minister Pema Khandu was one of the ten party candidates who won unopposed earlier.

The National People's Party (NPP) won five seats, while the People's Party of Arunachal got two seats and the NCP secured three. The Congress could manage only one seat, and Independent candidates emerged victorious in three constituencies.

In Sikkim, the SKM led by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang won 31 seats, while the SDF won one seat.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Sunday credited hard worl of SKM workers and peopl's trust in his government for party's landark victory.

"It is because of the love and trust of the people which we have managed to secure in the past five years in government. Besides, party cadres worked very hard. Now we have the next five years to give our 100 per cent for the people of Sikkim," he said at a gathering in Gangtok's Paljor Stadium.

"Dear and Respected People of Sikkim, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the esteemed people of Sikkim for giving a historic victory to the SKM," he said in a Facebook post.

Ajit Pawar-Led NCP Has Won 3 Assembly Seats In Arunachal
The Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) announced that it has won three Assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh. Among the newly elected MLAs from NCP are Nikhil Kamin, Likha Soni and Toku Tatum.

According to Praful Patel, NCP Working President, this is a significant step towards achieving a National Party status. "With previous victories in Maharashtra, Nagaland, and now Arunachal Pradesh, we are just one state away from achieving our goal," he said.

Minister Kiren Rijiju On Why "BJP Is Winning Election After Election In Northeast"
"When the trend of the entire country is in one directions it is not about exit polls or opinion polls. PM Modi is going to become PM for the third time with record margin. Assembly Election Results: "Historic Day For Arunachal Pradesh", Says Pema Khandu
After the BJP swept the assembly elections, Chief Minister Pema Khandu called it a "historic day for Arunachal Pradesh".

"The party set a new record in these Assembly elections... In 2019, we won 41 seats and in 2024 we have won 46 seats," he told the news agency ANI.
