Assembly election results: Congress decimated in Delhi because of their misdeeds, says BJP's Harsh Vardhan
New Delhi: With the BJP set to return to Delhi after 15 years with a massive mandate, the party's chief ministerial candidate Dr Harsh Vardhan today said the ruling Congress was decimated for its "misdeeds".

"The Congress has been decimated because of their misdeeds, scams, inflation," he said.

The Congress' Sheila Dikshit was hoping for a record fourth term in Delhi in an election that is also being seen as a referendum on the Manmohan Singh government at the Centre.

On Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party, the big story of Assembly elections 2013, Dr Vardhan claimed the rookie party has eaten more votes of the Congress than the BJP.

Trends at around 10.30 am showed the BJP leading in 30 seats while the Congress was leading in just 14. The debutant AAP was at an impressive 25.

Dr Harsh Vardhan told NDTV his first priority as Delhi's chief minister will be to ensure the safety of women in the national capital.
