Giving details in this regard, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Punjab Dr S Karuna Raju today said that the surveillance teams have seized 29.63 lakh litres of liquor worth Rs 16 crore. Similarly, the enforcement wings have also recovered psychotropic substances amounting to Rs 278.58 crore besides confiscating unaccounted cash of Rs 20.47 crore, he added.

Polling in Uttar Pradesh would be held in seven phases starting on February 10. The second phase would be held on February 14, the third on February 20, the fourth on February 23, the fifth on February 27 and the final phase on March 7.
Counting of votes will be held on March 10.
According to a notice by the General Administrative Department of the Delhi government, the waiver applies to every person employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking or any other establishment in the National Capital Territory of Delhi and entitled to vote in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
Lashing out at the "syndicate" of Samajwadi Party-BSP-Congress ahead of the assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Saturday said his party's "Modi-Yogi" factor has replaced the previous "Muslim-Yadav" factor which was communal and casteist, news agency PTI reported.
"The BJP has defeated the pseudo-secularism and appeasement politics with the determination to development with dignity of all. The MY (Modi-Yogi) factor, which is synonymous with inclusive empowerment, has replaced the previous MY (Muslim-Yadav) factor, which was a symbol of communalism and casteism," Mr Naqvi said.
