Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today campaigned for party candidates in Punjab. She was seen riding a tractor with Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi in Rupnagar district as part of her 'Jansampark Abhiyan'.
Meanwhile, Union home minister Amit Shah was in Samajwadi bastion Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh) today to muster support for BJP candidates. Akhilesh Yadav is contesting his maiden assembly election from the Karhal seat in Mainpuri.

Punjab Polls: Rajnath Singh Slams Congress Over Illegal Sand Mining, Drug Trade
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today targeted the Congress-led regime in Punjab over the issues of drug trade and illegal sand mining and dared the ruling party to reveal how many of its 2017 election promises has it fulfilled. Mr Singh also took on the AAP for its claims of ending the drug problem in the state, saying how could the party do so when it made liquor available door-to-door in Delhi. (PTI)

Bypoll: Assam Jatiya Parishad Declares Candidate For Seat Vacated By Union Minister
The opposition Assam Jatiya Parishad today announced Chittaranjan Basumatary as its candidate for the Majuli (Scheduled Tribe) constituency, where by-poll is slated to be held on March 7 after it was vacated by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. Mr Basumatary's name was announced by party general secretary Jagadish Bhuyan here for the prestigious seat, where Congress has decided not to contest but leave it for AJP to unite anti-BJP forces. UP Polls: Asaduddin Owaisi Is 'Descendent Of Lord Ram', Says BJP MP
BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP from Kaiserganj, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh called AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi "a descendent of Lord Ram." "Owaisi is an old friend of mine. As far as I know, he was 'Kshatriya' (Hindu) earlier. He is a descendent of Lord Ram, not the one belonging to Iran," said Mr Singh. UP Polls: Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati Crumbled UP's Economy, Says Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah today accused the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party of crumbling the economy of Uttar Pradesh and credited Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with bringing a turnaround in five years in the state. He also said the 2022 elections are for "strengthening Prime Minister Narendra Modi's hands and for making Yogi chief minister again". "SP and BSP's 'babua and bua" both had crumbled the economy of such a big state as Uttar Pradesh, the economic system was on the seventh spot in the country which was brought to second spot by Yogiji in five years.
