At Reliance Jio Reveal, Spotlight On Junior Ambanis Isha and Akash
Mukesh Ambani's children Isha and Akash Ambani are directors of Reliance Jio
Mumbai: At the mega reveal of Reliance's Jio venture on Thursday, a younger set of Ambani siblings was in the spotlight - Akash and Isha Ambani.

Addressing the Reliance Industries annual general meeting, Chairman Mukesh Ambani looked the proud father as he drew attention to two of his three children who are directors of the new telecom venture.

"The average age at Jio is 30 years. Jio is a creation of the young, by the young and of the young. Akash and Isha, both 24, our directors at Jio, have been hands-on leaders. They represent the large contingent of less than 30 years at Jio," Mr Ambani said as the camera panned to the siblings, beaming, flanked by grandmother Kokilaben and youngest brother Anant. Completing the family photo was their mother Nita Ambani.

Mr Ambani continued: "I want to tell all our young people at Jio - Jio is what it is because of your passion, ownership and an attitude of can do..."

Akash and Isha Ambani are twins. Akash majored in economics at Brown University. Isha has studied at Yale. They were appointed directors at Reliance Retail Ventures and Reliance Jio Infocomm two years ago.

Isha, who graduated with majors in psychology and South Asian studies, has also worked as a business analyst at McKinsey.

Anant Ambani, who is also studying in the US, made headlines recently with his dramatic weight-loss.

Mr Ambani introduced Jio as the world's cheapest telecom network with incredibly low 4G tariffs, free voice calls, no roaming charges and just Rs. 50 per GB.

Reliance Jio will launch on Monday and will be free for all users until the end of this year.
