A group of sadhus clashed with the police at the Simhastha Kumbh Mela in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.
The Sadhus, belonging to the Juna Akhara sect, are seen in video attacking policemen and even some devotees.
The sadhus had reportedly complained about thefts at their camp to the police. The alleged that suspected thieves handed over to the police by them were let off without any probe.
A group of sadhus also took out a march and blocked traffic in Ujjain on Sunday in protest against some incidents of violence and thefts at the mela.
A sadhu was hospitalized after he was attacked with a sharp weapon near a temple, a police officer said.
Late on Saturday night, a motorcade of sadhus was attacked at two places, causing damage to their vehicles.
The Simhastha Kumbh Mela started on April 22 and will conclude on May 21.
