Attach DB Realty's properties, says CBI

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has asked Enforcement Directorate (ED) to attach properties of 2G accused Shahid Balwa's company DB realty.

The CBI had, in its second chargesheet in the 2G case, alleged that Shahid Balwa along with Vinod Goenka, MD of DB Realty and Swan Telecom, channelled Rs 200 crore to DMK family-run Kalaignar TV, through Kusegaon Realty.

Both the directors of Kusegaon, Asif and Rajeev, have been charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating and corruption in the 2G scam case.

Shahid Usman Balwa, promoter of DB Realty and Swan Telecom (now Etisalat DB) was arrested on February 8 during investigations into the case. He is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.

Shahid is alleged to be one of the main beneficiaries of the 2G scam with his firm, Swan Telecom, having been allotted licences for valuable spectrum at throwaway prices by former Telecom Minister A Raja as a part of a criminal conspiracy.
