Attack on Rukhsana's house, security tightened

Rajouri: After the attack on her house in Rajouri, the security of Rukhsana and her family has been tightened. Police are taking no chances and the security of the family is being reviewed on a daily basis.

Last month, Rukhsana overpowered and killed a Lashkar commander in Rajouri.

Aftermath of the gunfight, unexploded grenade and empty cartilages, have been lying scattered at Rukhsana's house in the Rajouri district.

The house came under attack on Friday night. The exchange of fire lasted for 10 minutes but militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

Militants returned to take revenge from her, but luckily nobody was hurt. Rukhsana and her family have been shifted to a safe location by the police.

"Rukhsana and her family are under a lot of threat, we don't want to take any chances and have kept them under full security and their security is being reviewed on a daily basis to check any shortcomings," said Shafqat Watali, SSP, Rajouri.

But undeterred by militant threats, Rukhsana says that young men and women must get arms training to end terrorism from the state.

"All the young men and women must get arms training so that they also learn how to fire with a rifle so that we are able to curb militants and eliminate them from our villages," said Rukhsana.

The attack on Rukhsana's house has come as a warning shot from militants. Clearly the issue of security of Rukhsana and her family cannot be taken lightly as she has become a symbol of resistance against militants.
