Mumbai:
BJP chief Nitin Gadkari on Thursday appealed for peace and harmony and asked party workers to ensure law and order is maintained after the Allahabad High Court pronounces its verdict on the Ayodhya dispute.
"I appeal to BJP activists to honour the court verdict. I appeal all to maintain peace, restraint and harmony," he told reporters at the city BJP office this morning.
"Lakhs and crores of people in the country feel that Ram temple be built at the spot where Ram was born," he said, adding the country is eagerly awaiting the court verdict.
The party which does not like the court verdict is free to appeal against it in court, Gadkari said.
"I appeal to all workers and people of country to ensure that no untoward incident takes place after the court verdict," he said.
