Highlights of what Baba Ramdev said after meeting BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Monday, a day after his fast:
- He (Nitin Gadkari) was kind enough to meet me today
- Many leaders have given me time to meet them
- I have written to Sonia Gandhi also the way I wrote to Nitin Gadkari
- Country has to be right at the top
- How to stop waste of money and how to move from inflation to surplus is a country issue, not a party issue
- When black money comes back, no one will be poor in this country
- Government has to adopt a transparent and effective process to bring back black money
- Gadkari has been very kind. He has given this acceptance letter to us by keeping politics aside and keeping nation foremost

Gandhian activist Anna Hazare and yoga guru Baba Ramdev's day-long fast at Jantar Mantar has ended. Both of them left the venue shortly after 6 pm.
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev addresses supporters at the protest venue:

- I have no difference of opinion with Arvind Kejriwal.
- I had said we will not take names because I felt it diverts attention from the main issue. Without taking names Anna Hazare has claimed six wickets (ministers dismissed).
- Arvind Kejriwal took names ; I have no problems with that.
- It is being said that Arvind Kejriwal left in a huff over differences with Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare; there are no differences on the fundamental issues. Two people may express themselves differently.
- Arvind Kejriwal was unwell, he sought our permission before he left.
- Around Rs 200 lakh crore is the quantum black money; we need to bring it back.
- Don't want to target any individual; democracy is bigger than any government.
- Once black money is back, we will be in surplus. There will be no more inflation. Our growth rate will be higher, people from abroad will come to India looking for work.
- We have discussed with Team Anna, everyone will get together to launch another round of agitation in the country.
- The next agitation will be on August 9.
- This is the second round of agitation, and it will go on till August 8; and the third round from August 9.
- 022-33081122, give a missed call on this number and join the agitation.
- CBI is a puppet in the Government's hands; it doesn't investigate politicians but is targeting Acharya Balkrishna.
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev addresses supporters at the protest venue:

- We should be taught better values in our education system, that will help fight corruption.
- I will go to all politicians - Sonia Gandhi, Nitin Gadkari, Mulayam Singh Yadav and press for a strong Lokpal again.
- We will go to the Prime Minister with a letter of support.
- I will meet political leaders tomorrow.
- We are not the agents of any party, we are the agents of 121 crore Indians.
- From Gram Sabha to Rajya Sabha we will seek support for our movement of getting back black money.
- Larger denomination of currency should be stopped ; note mein khot hain.

Social activist Anna Hazare and yoga guru Baba Ramdev held a joint fast against corruption in the national capital.

Gandhian activist Anna Hazare and Yoga guru Baba Ramdev are holding a day-long fast in Delhi today as a mark of their protest against corruption and black money. Here are the highlights of what Anna Hazare said:
Anna Hazare addresses the supporters at the protest venue:
- The whole country is my family.
- We will fight the gundas in India.
- I do not ask anyone to emulate me.
- Sacrifices have to be made to achieve a great goal.
- I do not even know the names of my brother's children.
- We are talking of changing the country; that is not impossible.
Rift between Team Anna and Baba Ramdev at protest venue?
Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal has left the venue. During his speech today, he had slammed several top ministers. Shortly after that, Baba Ramdev took the stage saying they should refrain from any personal attacks. Arvind Kejriwal left soon after that. The official word from the Team Anna camp, however, is that Arvind Kejrwal was unwell, and hence left.

Team Anna member and RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal addresses supporters:
- Parties promised to bring Lokayukta and Citizen's Charter, but all parties refused ultimately
- The leaders have forgotten that they are here to serve the public. They consider themselves kings of this nation
- No political party wants to bring back black money or eradicate corruption
- Out of 34 ministers, 15 ministers are accused of corruption. If Lokayukta is brought, at least 12-13 of them will surely be sent to jail
- Strange thing is, the head of these 15 ministers is our PM Dr Manmohan Singh. There are charges of corruption against him also
At the fast site, pictures of Rajbala were on display. The 51-year-old died after being injured during the alleged police action on Ramdev supporters at the Ramlila ground agitation last year.

Around 5000 people, undeterred by the scorching heat, reached Parliament Street in the heart of the national capital today to show their support for social activist Anna Hazare and yoga guru Baba Ramdev. Catch the action in pics here
A man who attempted to set himself on fire at the fast venue was detained by the police. Syed Alvi from Bulandshahar is reportedly an Anna supporter for the past one and a half years. He claimed he wanted to meet Anna and ask him some questions, but was not allowed

"UNITED AGAINST CORRUPTION"
Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev addresses supporters: Highlights of his speech
- I was told it's too hot. I said it doesn't matter if it's hot or cold... this is the beginning of our protest
- We are looking at united pan-India protest against corruption
- We will get back the black money stashed abroad
- And to ensure this doesn't happen again, we will also campaign for a strong Lokpal
- PM should not just be honest himself, he should be democratically, constitutionally honest
- Mr PM you must keep your cabinet ministers honest too
- Ruling party says the country doesn't run by protests, laws are not made on the streets. They say they are the representatives of the people. We say the law of the land says the people are supreme
- We have laws that were foisted on us by our British rulers...we need new 'swadeshi' laws
- In our country, people are dying of starvation, farmers are committing suicide, children do not have the right to equal education. Our country is being held economic hostage by foreign companies
- Even after 65 years of independence, major sections of the population have not got the social and economic justice they were promised
- In the Ramlila grounds last year, we saw "Ravanlila"
- This country doesn't belong to the government, it belongs to 121 crore Indians and we will together save this country from corruption
- If netas are not corrupt, why are they shying away from making a strong Lokpal Bill?
- When they can't find anything against us, they files cases against Baba (Ramdev's) associates.
- The whole country saw how Anna Hazare's associates were harassed. But they could not break our resolve
- You want to bulldoze my Patanjali Yogapeeth. I will construct 500 more. Do what you can do
- Yoga bhi sikhayenge, desh bhi bachayenge, kala dhan bhi layenge, bhrashtachar bhi mitayenge (Will continue to teach and practice yoga but also agitate on corruption, black money and issues of national interest)
- If in the last 30 years, this black money had not been accumulated, our economy would have been 7% larger
- If this black money had not been there, we would have had an economy as large as America, China. They would have been behind us.
- Our growth would not have come down from 9% to 5%. Rupee would not have been devalued. The Finance Minister must answer for this
- Rajiv Gandhi said when we send money from Delhi, only 20% reaches villages. When he spoke that was an ideal. When Anna and Baba raise this issue, we become villains
- This money - black money - is invested in gold, in IPL where girls dance and players are bought
- People in the government say we are propped up by the media - what is the media's fault?
- FDI in this country is about 20 lakh crores. If one of us has 20 lakhs, the government asks us 'what is the source?'
- We ask the government what is the source of this FDI; and who is the ultimate beneficiary
- Today, we have taken this protest to 28 state capitals. But it's not just the people in Jantar Mantar, in state capitals but people in 647 districts of the country who will raise their voice against corruption
- The government should declare black money as national property; but that is not enough to get it back. Government must declare the names of the offenders
- If we had called people from all over India, there would have been 1 crore people. But I must warn, this menace will not be over in one day, we will continue our protests
- We are prepared to shed our blood for the country
