Babu's assurance brings Bihar jawans back to work

Patna:

Bihar's Buxar district is witnessing police agitations. It's been a night-long drama before the district HQ as the state's military police protest delay in getting their daily stipends, which is allotted to them during election duty.

The military police personnel claim they have not got their stipends for poll duty, which is Rs 300 per day.

The personnel also say that the payment is long due and no payment has been made for the last two elections, including the General Elections in May this year.

The personnel were adamant that they would only do their duty in the agricultural co-operative elections on Wednesday, and on Thursday, only after the payment is made. But after an assurance by the area's DM that they will get their stipend by Thursday, the jawans agreed to go back to work.

However, the jawans say if payments are not made by Thursday, they will go back to protesting.
