New Delhi:
Two-year-old girl Baby Falak has shown remarkable improvement in her medical condition with doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) stating that she is "stable" and able to breathe on her own.
Baby Falak is off the ventilator now and her brain blood and chest infections have also been resolved. Her eye movement has improved; she is also moving her limbs spontaneously.
Her chances of survival have greatly improved as she is not as deeply comatose as before. The casts on her arms have also been removed temporarily.
The conclusion was arrived after they observed that Baby Falak has been without artificial respiration for the past three days and has shown limb movement without any external stimuli.
"Her condition is stable. She is no more in a critical state as she can now live without ventilator support. She is fit to be shifted to the wards but we have decided to keep her in the ICU least people throng to see her," said Dr Deepak Agarwal, who has been attending on the girl child since she was admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre on January 18.
Baby Falak was brought to the hospital with severe head injuries, broken arms, bite marks all over her body and cheeks branded with hot iron.
