Mumbai: The Bombay High Court will commence from July 18 the cross-examination of Jaidev Thackeray, the estranged son of late Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, in a suit filed by him challenging his father's will.
Justice Gautam Patel today said Mr Jaidev's cross-examination by the lawyer of his brother and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray will be held on a daily basis from July 18.
Mr Jaidev had filed the suit challenging his father's will of December 13, 2011, in which the late Sena chief had not left a farthing for Mr Jaidev.
Mr Jaidev disputed the will alleging his father was of unsound mind and that Mr Uddhav Thackeray influenced him.
The suit was filed after Mr Bal Thackeray's death in November 2012.
Earlier, the court had asked the parties to settle the dispute, but it was not resolved.
The court has till now examined witnesses F D'Souza, Dr Jalil Parkar and Sena leader Anil Parab.
Mr D'Souza told the court that Mr Thackeray had made multiple wills, in all of which the beneficiaries remained the same, but the assets willed to each beneficiary kept changing.
Mr Thackeray had prepared and executed his first will in 1997, and thereafter around eight to nine wills were executed, until the final one in 2011.
