Bangalore:
A fast track court will deliver its verdict in the Pratibha Murthy murder case on October 6.
Pratibha Murthy, a BPO employee in Bangalore was raped and killed while on her way for night-shift duty in December 2005. The prime accused in the case is Shivu alias Shivakumar. He was the substitute cab driver who picked Pratibha up from home.
Pratibha's uncle, Srinivas, who appeared for the hearing said that the accused Shivakumar must be hanged.
In July 2006, the case was referred to a fast-track court.
Over four years, three different judges have heard the arguments. There are no eye-witnesses in the case and the court has had to rely on circumstantial evidence and mobile phone records.
The court has also examined 71 other witnesses and 218 exhibits.
