Bangalore:
A court in Bangalore which is hearing a case of corruption against J Jayalalithaa has asked the government to make "requisite" security arrangements for her visit on October 20.
Judge B M Mallikarjunaiah directed the court's presiding officer to write to the government about security the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's appearance.
Ms Jayalalithaa had asked to be exempted from court. The Supreme Court ruled against that on September 12.
Ms Jayalalithaa has 'Z' category security.
The judge hearing the case will review the Karnataka government's arrangements on October 10.
The dcase against Jayalalithaa relates to the alleged accumulation of disproportionate assets worth over Rs 66 crore between 1991 and 1996. She has been accused of misusing her earlier terms as Chief Minister for personal gain.
