Bangalore, Kollam: A team of Bangalore police arrived in Kerala on Tuesday to arrest People's Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasser Madani, listed an accused in the charge sheet filed in the 2008 Bangalore serial blasts case.
As the news spread, PDP workers and supporters of Madani began pouring in at his camp at Anwarassery near Kollam.
The team, led by a Deputy Commissioner of Police, arrived in Kochi from where they headed to Kollam, the district where Madani is camping, police said.
Bangalore Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari said that the team is in Kollam to arrest the PDP leader.
Madani was listed as an accused in an additional charge sheet filed by SIT probing the Bangalore blasts, based on statements given to police by key accused T Nazeer.
