Mumbai: The manager of a multinational banking and financial services company and his associate have been arrested for allegedly posting morphed photographs of their female colleague on Facebook and some pornographic sites.
Accused Amit Karkhanis, 32, working as a manager with the Standard Chartered Bank in Mumbai, was arrested on Saturday while his associate Omkar Pradhan was nabbed from Pune on Wednesday night.
According to the police, the 28-year-old victim, who works in the same bank, had approached the cyber cell police on July 20 over her morphed photographs posted on Facebook. Investigations revealed that the photos were also posted on pornographic sites.
Mr Karkhanis told cops that he wanted to take revenge as the victim did not agree to his marriage proposal.
"Mr Karkhanis told Mr Pradhan that the victim was his girlfriend and requested the latter to create morphed photographs of her," police said.
Mr Karkhanis is in police custody until today while Mr Pradhan was produced before a local court yesterday which remanded him in police custody till August 12.
