Baramulla clashes continue; 46 injured

Baramulla: In Jammu and Kashmir, 46 people, including 31 policemen, have been injured in four days of clashes in Baramulla.

The clashes began on Friday afternoon during protests to demand the release of Separatist leaders and several young men who were picked up by the police during the Shopian agitation.

The death of class VII student Irfan Ahmad in Friday's clashes sparked off more violence with his family alleging he was hit by a teargas shell by the police.

However, the police have denied this. They say he died after a fall during the shelling. The government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the boy's death.
