New Delhi: The 28-year-old woman, whose horrifying gang-rape made headlines on International Women's Day, has broken her silence.
The mother of two who lost her infant in the brutal assault spoke to NDTV and recalled the horror story.
"I was coming from my sister's house when these two men pulled me inside the bus at an isolated spot. They gave me some intoxicant so that I could not react. I tried to set myself free and during the scuffle my child fell form my lap," she said.
The horrifying bus ride started when the woman along with her two children boarded a mostly empty private bus on March 7 around 8:30 pm. She was heading back to Rampur, around 70 km away, after visiting her sister.
The woman reportedly slept off, urged by the driver and the conductor, and did not realise when all other passengers got off at a point.
The driver and the conductor allegedly assaulted her and dumped her on the road and drove off.
According to the police, 36-year-old bus driver Bobby and 20-year-old conductor Payian have confessed to the crime.
The police officials add that the helper of the bus, Salman 'guarded' the vehicle and kept the 3 year old child outside the bus.
The incident, which emerged as Women's Day was being celebrated in India and across the world, has chilling echoes of the December 2012 gang-rape of a young student by five men on a private bus.
