The probe panel into the Indian Premier League (IPL) scandal set up by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will meet for the first time in Bangalore today.
Justice T Jayaram Chouta, former Judge of the Karnataka and Madras High Courts, Justice R Balasubramanian, former Judge of the Madras High Court, are the members of the probe panel. BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale, who was supposed to be the third member of the panel, had quit his post on the board on May 31 following wide-spread criticism of the board's handling of corruption allegations in the IPL.
This commission was appointed by the BCCI after the Delhi Police arrested Rajasthan Royals cricketers S Seeesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan for alleged spot-fixing on May 16.
Today's meeting is likely to work out the modalities of the panel on how to carry about it work.
