New Delhi:
The Central Information Commissioner has taken two decisions on Wednesday night, which have caused a stir.
Firstly, the CIC has ordered the disclosure of appointment of judges in the High Courts and Supreme Court.
The CIC has said that there is no reason why the appointment of judges should not be disclosed.
The CIC also said that as of now, the process of judicial appointments and transfers is shrouded in mystery. And people do not know how Judges are selected and appointed or transferred.
The CIC also said that the name of the Union Minister who tried to influence Justice R Reghupati of the Madras High Court should be made public within 15 days.
The Supreme Court registry is likely to challenge these orders in Delhi High Court.
