Punjab Assembly witnessed ruckus today with Opposition Congress members throwing papers, books and documents towards the Speaker's podium alleging the party's office inside the Assembly complex was raided by the police.
The House witnessed walkout by agitated Congress members who also trooped into the well several times chanting slogans against the government leading to adjournment of the House four times.
When the House re-assembled after the fourth adjournment, the uproarious scenes continued forcing the chair to adjourn the House for the day.
The Congress members, led by Leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar, raised the issue during Question Hour alleging their party's office inside the Assembly complex was raided by police.
During the din, two Congress members, Raja Amarinder Warring and Ajit Inder Singh Mofar, tried to breach the security cordon to reach the Speaker's podium.
In the process, Mr Warring thrashed the Watch and Ward staff who, however, did not retaliate.
