Officer in charge of Sarenga police station in Bankura in West Bengal was killed in gunbattle with Maoists on Wednesday night.
One Maoist has also been killed in exchange of fire.
In another incident, in Jharkhand in the Kudko village of the Giridih district, there was a similar attack, however, there were no casualties.
