Bhopal gas tragedy: Hunting for the accused
Bhopal: It's the world's worst-ever environmental disaster, the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy and as trial continues many have died; others have grown old, religiously attending every hearing of the case.

Finally, hope of justice came for the victims of this disaster. A fresh warrant has been issued to arrest Accused Number One, Warren Anderson, former CEO of Union Carbide.

"An arrest warrant has been issued against Warren Anderson by the Chief Judicial Magistrate. He also said that Anderson should be brought to the court. The Indian government has also been asked to implement the order," said Sadhna Pathak, Gas Victims' Counsel.

Twenty-five years ago, on December 3 midnight, 3,000 people died after the deadly methyl isocyanate gas leaked from this Union Carbide factory. Thousands died later. Lakhs are still suffering from chronic diseases.

It's been 25 years of suffering and such is the travesty of justice that the main accused has not appeared in court even once!
