Bhupinder Singh Hooda to expand Haryana cabinet tomorrow

Chandigarh: The expansion of Bhupinder Singh Hooda Cabinet in Haryana will take place on Tuesday with the induction of two ministers, raising the strength of the council of ministers to 14.

"The Haryana Cabinet will be expanded on October 29 in the afternoon and two ministers will be inducted," an official spokesman said tonight.

The vacancies in the Cabinet were created after OP Jain and Gopal Kanda had to resign after their names figured in two separate cases.

Congress sources said that a decision on the names, mostly CM-loyalists, has been taken.

Hisar MLA Savitri Jindal, mother of industrialist-MP Naveen Jindal is a probable candidate to be inducted into the Cabinet. Haryana Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Sharma's name is also being considered.

The name of Sampat Singh, who had joined the Congress in 2009, and was promised a Cabinet seat after he snapped his three-decade old ties with the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), is also doing the round, sources said.

Jindal, who had remained a minister, had to make way to accommodate the Independents who let support and helped Hooda form the government after the Congress was reduced to minority with 40 seats in the 2009 Assembly polls.
