Bhagalpur:
Stepping up attack on the Nitish Kumar government, Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday charged that the Bihar administration had failed on all fronts, including health and education sectors, despite getting crores of money from the Centre.
Dubbing Kumar as an "opportunist", she charged, "There are complaints of corruption...but no no tangible step has been taken to tackle this."
"Nothing has been done in the fields of electricity, drinking water, health and education during the past five years," Gandhi told an election rally here while canvassing support for her party nominees.
"The Centre has provided resources and means for these sectors... but unfortunately the state government has failed to properly utilise them for the benefits of common people," Gandhi said.
She said Nitish is not what he appears to be in public and used a Hindi idiom 'Haathi ke daant khane ke aur or dikhane ke aur' to drive home the point.
