Bihar government has decided to include lessons in disaster management in school syllabus and give training through mock drill.
At a meeting on disaster management presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, it was decided to take 70,000 schools in the state under "Mukhya Mantri school siksha yojna" to provide these facilities, probably first of its kind in the country.
These schools would be given first aid kits and disaster management kits for use, Vice President of State Disaster Management Authority Anil Kumar Sinha said today.

He said for continuous monitoring of earthquake situation, a network of earthquake equipment is being laid down as part of which 14 centres would be build.
Officials at police station level would be imparted training how to respond in case of a natural disaster, Mr Sinha said.
A flood hazard atlas is being prepared with the help of National Remote Sensing Centre Hyderabad, he said.
The meeting was attended by large number of ministers including that of health, power, road construction department and disaster management.
