Katihar: Union Minister Uma Bharati today attacked the Nitish Kumar government over the "deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar", saying that the road rage incident in Gaya showed that people belonging to the ruling dispensation in the state were "drunk with power".
"Kumar is reforming people addicted to liquor through prohibition and he should take action against those drunk with power," she said, adding, "There will be jungle raj in the country if he becomes the Prime Minister".
"Lalu Prasad had supported Nitish Kumar for the post of prime minister but if Nitishji becomes the prime minister then there will be jungle raj in the country like Bihar," Ms Bharati told reporters during her brief stopover in Katihar enroute to Jharkhand.
A 20-year-old youth Aditya Kumar Sachdeva was shot dead allegedly by Rocky Kumar Yadav, the son of a JD(U)MLC in Bihar following a scuffle over the youngster and his friends overtaking their Land Rover SUV in Gaya on Saturday night.
The Union Minister said Clean Ganga Mission is her priority and no one will be allowed to play with religious sentiments of people attach to the river.
People will continue to immerse 'asthi kalash' in the river, the minister said.
'Clean Ganga' campaign will be launched in Jharkhand, she said adding that Rs 134 crore Namami Gange programme would be beneficial to people in various ways.
