Patna:
The Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary today suspended a rebel JD(U) MLA for the entire Monsoon session for creating ruckus in the House along with BJP members, but later revoked the order.
Irked by Chhatpur MLA in Supual district Neeraj Singh Babloo repeatedly thumping the table of Assembly staff when the entire BJP was in the well demanding CBI probe into alleged scam of Rs 100 crore in the purchase of medicines for hospitals in the state, the Speaker announced his suspension for rest of the Monsoon session that would end on August 7.
The Speaker, however, later withdrew the suspension.
"I have instructed to expunge the suspension order on the MLA on my wisdom" the Speaker told reporters later.
Mr Babloo is among four rebel JD(U) MLAs permitted by the Supreme Court to attend the House till pendency of their petition challenging a decision of the Patna High Court which upheld the termination of their membership.
Before the withdrawal of the suspension order, Leader of Opposition Nand Kishore Yadav told reporters staging protest in the Well of the House was nothing unusual and such things had happened in the past too.
"Suspending a member on this ground is unjustified," he said.
Defending the suspension order, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shrawan Kumar said "when 25 Congress MPs were suspended from Lok Sabha it's justified, but when one MLA staging protest with BJP has been suspended in Bihar, the opposition is making hue and cry."
