The ruling BJP is discussing whether it can extend the current Budget session of Parliament which is scheduled to conclude on Thursday.
"Parliament session can be extended beyond 14th August," said the party's Rajiv Pratap Rudy today. (

The session, which began on July 7, has seen the government struggling to push through important legislation, mainly because of Opposition from the Congress.
The government has failed to introduce the Insurance Bill in the Upper House or Rajya Sabha, which calls for foreign investment in an over-regulated and under-funded sector to be increased from 26% to 49%. The proposal is a key reform aimed at helping revive economic growth.
The government is also keen to push through a new proposal that changes how judges are promoted or transferred. The Congress wants the proposal to be reviewed by a parliamentary committee before it is discussed and voted upon. Amid allegations of corruption in the judiciary, the government's new plan asks for judges to be selected by a committee of six members - the Chief Justice of India, the Law Minister, two senior Supreme Court judges, and two eminent personalities. The two eminent Indians are to be chosen by a group that is headed by the Prime Minister and includes the leader of the largest opposition party.
Currently, the promotion and transfer of judges is handled by a collegium of five judges headed by the Chief Justice of India.
